Parent Support Counseling following Separation and Divorce
During separation and divorce, family members experience uncertainty, emotional upheaval, and changes in their family roles and rules. Our therapists assist in the process of redefining relationships and addressing family members’ responsibilities and needs.
Separation and divorce counseling provides support for the adults and is helpful in sorting through the many decisions that need to be made, in coping with the strong emotions elicited by a separation or by the divorce process, in learning to manage partners' emotional reactivity to one another, and in helping children with the emotional distress that accompanies parental conflict.
Therapists who are experienced in helping with these problems are available to work with the partners separately or together and to include the children where necessary. When children need individual therapy as well, our team of licensed therapists are also available to work together with the parents to ensure that all of the family members' needs are addressed in a coordinated manner.
At the Morgan Center, our doors are always open.
